Emily and Homan’s Charleston engagement session was a celebration of the place that has quietly shaped so much of their story together. Rather than choosing a location solely for its beauty, they wanted their engagement photos to reflect the places and moments that feel most like home. Naturally, that led us to one of their favorite date spots, Babas in downtown Charleston.

Located just a few blocks from both of their homes, Babas has become woven into the fabric of their relationship. It's where countless coffee dates, evening walks, and everyday moments have unfolded throughout their time together. For Emily and Homan, downtown Charleston isn't just a backdrop—it's where their love story has taken shape.

As a Charleston engagement photographer, these are often my favorite sessions to document. The locations already hold meaning, allowing couples to focus less on posing and more on simply being together. We spent the afternoon wandering the charming streets surrounding Babas, stopping at favorite corners, historic facades, and quiet stretches of downtown Charleston that have become familiar parts of their routine.

Between shared laughter, hand-in-hand walks through the historic district, and coffee in hand at their favorite neighborhood café, every image reflected the genuine connection they share.
